Our first task was to make a school magazine front cover, this was quite an easy task in the sense It was easy to take pictures and make the magazine because we attend school so we can take full advantage of our school and take pictures of buildings and student.
The first thing I did when making my school magazine was take pictures of my model who was Sanah Adeeb another student from my school. The reason as to why I chose her to take the pictures was because she was dressed smart therefore she went with the theme of my school magazine. When taking the pictures I had to keep in mind that this is a school magazine so I tried to include a school building in the background. I also had to make sure that the lighting was good so the picture was off good quality so I took he picture on a sunny day. I had to take a few pictures from different angles so I could get one that I knew would look good.
When making my magazine I used Indesign, this was a software I had never used before therefore it was a bit difficult for me to use it. To edit and improve the quality of my pictures I used Photoshop, This was because I wanted my picture to be of a good quality as it is the front cover of the school magazine. My magazine had a colour theme of black and a very light baby blue, this was because as it is a school magazine it had to have a very smart look to it so i could not use other colours such as pink because it would not match my magazine.
The font I used for the magazine was Algerian, this was because it was a bold font and had a very smart look to it, this was a good font for me because it went with my school magazine theme, the reason as to why I had to make my school magazine smart was because it is aimed at parents they want to see a smart magazine which represents the school their child attends well. This also means that my magazine has to be written formally so the subheading had to be formal they cannot be cheesy like they are in other magazines for example in pop music magazines.
